Brake System

Brake System

What It Is: This warning light means either the brake system is malfunctioning or the parking brake is on . Failure to check the cause of this warning may cause the system to operate abnormally and possibly cause an accident

 

What To Do: Make sure the Parking brake is not applied. If it is not applied and the signal is still present, stop the car immediately in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer.

What It Is: Indicates a malfunction in the battery or the  vehicle's charging system

 

What To Do: Contact your Toyota dealer to check your battery connection

SRS Warning Light

SRS Warning Light

What It Is: Indicates a malfunction in the SRS airbag system or seat belt pretensioner system. 

 

What To Do: Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer  immediately.

ABS Warning Light

What It Is: Indicates a malfunction in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) or the brake assist system

Low Engine Oil Pressure

What It Is: Indicates that the engine oil pressure is too low

 

What To Do: Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer

Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature

Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature

What It Is: Indicates that the automatic transmission fluid temperature warning is too high if the light comes on 

 

What To Do: Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place, shift the shift lever to P and wait until the light goes off. If the light goes off you may start the vehicle again. If the warning light do not go off, contact your Toyota dealer 

Rear Differential Lock Indicator

Rear Differential Lock Indicator

What It Is: Use the rear differential lock system only when wheel spinning occurs in a ditch or on a slippery or ridged surfaces. This system is effective in case one of the rear tires skids or falls into a pothole 

 

What To Do: Press the rear differential lock switch to lock the rear differential and the rear differential lock indicator will appear. Do not drive over 8 km/h when this feature is on. To unlock this feature, press the switch again

Rear Passengers' Seatbelt Reminder Lights

What It Is: A warning for the rear passengers to fasten their seatbelts

 

What To Do: If the seat belts are fastened, the light should stay off

High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light

High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light

What It Is: Indicates that the engine is almost overheating and there is a possible risk of engine damage. Changes from a flashing to a solid light occur when the engine coolant temperature increases

 

What To Do: Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer

What It Is: A buzzer sounds and the warning light comes on and flashes to indicate that the master warning system has detected a malfunction 

 

What To Do: Follow the instructions of the message on the vehicle screen. If any warning messages are shown again after the necessary  action have been performed, contact your Toyota dealer

What It Is: Indicates a malfunction in the sensors or that the system is temporarily unavailable due to the vehicle being extremely cold/hot or dirt around one of the front sensors

 

What To Do: Visit your Toyota dealer

What It Is: When a vehicle detects slippery conditions, the stability or traction control system is activated. Please note that the light will flash when anti-slip system, stability control system or traction control system is activated

 

What To Do: Slow down and allow your vehicle to regain traction. If the warning light stays on, contact your Toyota dealer

What To Do: Turn off the engine immediately and check the level of engine oil if low add more oil if oil level is not low visit your Toyota dealer

What It Is: Indicates a malfunction in the LED headlights 

 

What To Do: Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer  immediately

Tire Pressure Warning Light

What It Is: Indicates a flat tire or low tire pressure, or that the tire pressure warning system is malfunctioning

 

What To Do: Check the pressure of all of the tires with a gauge and determine the cause of pressure loss and add air or visit your Toyota dealer

What It Is: Indicates that the windshield washer fluid level is too low 

 

What To Do: Add washer fluid

What To Do: Release the accelerator or brake pedal, and if they're not pressed, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately

What It Is: The front fog lights are on, which secure excellent visibility in difficult driving conditions, such as in rain and fog

 

What To Do: If the weather is not foggy, rainy, or snowy, visibility is clear and you have to turn off light by the switch

Traction Control System (TRC) Indicator

Traction Control System (TRC) Indicator

What It Is: Traction Control System (TRC) helps to maintain drive power and prevent the drive wheels from spinning when starting the vehicle or accelerating on slippery roads

 

What To Do: If the vehicle becomes stuck in snow or sand, the traction control system may reduce engine power. Sometimes you may need to turn the system off to enable you to move the vehicle. Please note that on some vehicles there is a TRC on/off button or through the settings in the display

What It Is: This warning light indicates that all-wheel drive is activated

 

What To Do: Use this feature to climb or descend steep hills and drive off-road as well as in sand, mud or snow

What To Do: Use this system when your tires get stuck in a pothole or when driving on slippery or bumpy surfaces

Blind Spot Monitor Indicator

Blind Spot Monitor Indicator

What It Is: When a vehicle is detected in the blind spot corners, the indicator on the side view mirror on the detected side will light up, and if the signal lever is turned towards the detected side, the side view mirror indicator will flash rapidly. This indicator does not necessarily have to be located inside the side mirror, it can be located inside the vehicle near the window as in the Toyota Corolla Cross

 

What To Do: Be diligent with your surroundings as a car is near

What It Is: When driving on a road with white lines, this feature will alert the driver when the vehicle is out of the designated lane and help bring the vehicle back to the correct lane

 

What To Do: When the system determines that the vehicle has drifted out of its lane, a warning is displayed on the screen and a warning bell sounds to alert the driver as well to return the vehicle to its correct lane

What It Is: This warning light indicates a malfunction in the Smart Entry and Start System

 

What To Do: Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota Dealer

Parking Assist Sensor Off Indicator

What It Is: Indicates that the system is temporarily unavailable, possibly due to a sensor being dirty or covered with ice, dust , etc.

 

What To Do: If the sensor is clean and the light still flashes, it indicates a malfunction in the sensors. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota Dealer

What It Is: The Brake Holding System keeps the brakes applied when the shift lever is in D or N

 

What To Do: To release the brakes, press on the accelerator with the shift lever in D to allow for a smooth launch

Service Reminder Indicator

What It Is: Indicates that maintenance is required according to the driven distance on the maintenance schedule

 

What To Do: Perform the necessary maintenance by your Toyota dealer and reset the maintenance data afterward

Cruise Control Indicator

What It Is: The cruise control system maintains a set speed without depressing the accelerator pedal

 

What To Do: Press the "ON-OFF"  button once to deactivate the system, then press the "ON-OFF" button again to reactivate the system. If the cruise control speed cannot be set  or if the cruise control is canceled once activated, there may be a malfunction in the system, so have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer

What It Is: Eco Driving is designed to increase fuel economy and can be activated or deactivated

 

What To Do: The light will automatically turn off when accelerating or exceeding the speed limit as well as when the vehicle comes to a stop

What It Is: The car automatically accelerates and decelerates to match the speed changes of the car in front of you through the radar even if the accelerator or brake pedal is not pressed

Multi-Terrain Select Indicator

What It Is: Multi-terrain Select system controls vehicle performance and optimizes off-road drivability 

 

What To Do: Use this system in mountainous and rocky areas

Crawl Control Indicator

Crawl Control Indicator

What It Is: Allows driving on off-road surfaces at a constant low speed without pressing the accelerator or brake pedal, and minimizes loss or skidding when driving on slippery road surfaces, allowing for a stable ride. The system helps to get tires stuck in the sand out and also to keep the vehicle stable

 

What To Do: Use  this system in mountainous and rocky areas

Brake Hold Operated Indicator

What It Is: Indicates that the Brake Hold System is activated

 

What To Do: First, activate the function by pressing the Brake Hold button, a green light will illuminate to let you know that the system is activated. The brakes will remain activated until you accelerate again without touching the button

Turn Assist Indicator

What It Is: It helps with cornering while driving on rough or slippery road surfaces, as the car travels at a constant low speed without the need to press the gas pedal or brake pedal

 

What To Do: Use it on rough and slippery roads

Headlight High Beam Indicator

Headlight High Beam Indicator

What It Is: This warning sign indicates that the high-beam headlights have been switched on

 

What To Do: To turn off the high beams, you must pull the handle located behind the steering wheel on the left side
